About Us
It started with two friends talking about life and realizing they both loved the event aspect of their jobs. One came from LA working in PR, the other with a background in non-profit and fundraising. A partnership was formed and Ethereal Events became more than an idea, it became a reality. With over 15 years combined experience, our founders understand our client’s needs and our guest’s desired experience.

Anjali Ravindran
About Me: Born in India, I lived in Singapore for a hot minute before settling in England. I moved to Michigan in High School and then attended Michigan State University. Shortly after college I moved to Chicago; I love city life. You could say culture is very important to me. I love learning about different families’ traditions and implementing them into the event. While most of my experience is in the political, university, and non-profit fields, my passion for event planning extends into my personal life. I love bringing friends together to create memorable, special, and unique moments + unforgettable experiences. Now, channeling that passion into a business of our own has been a dream come true. It makes me truly happy to help couples create their dream day while making the process easier (and fun) for them.
Favorite things: A killer spin class, new experiences, cooking with friends (with lots of red wine), toting my chihuahua everywhere I go, dancing, and ABBA.
Fave wedding moment: Nothing is more beautiful than the vows and the ‘I do’ moment. You will definitely catch me crying every time. After working with a couple for a year and witnessing their dedication to each other, this moment is even more sweet.
On the day of the event: I thrive on organized chaos, so running around doing a million different things is my jam. You will find me greeting vendors, setting things up, keeping everyone on the timeline, and making sure the layout is just right. You will find me doing it all. Seeing everything come together along with the couple and their families relaxed and happy makes it all worth it.
Dream Wedding: An early fall wedding at a warm destination. Lots of gold + warm/moody tones with splashes of color. It would obviously be days long with modern Indian touches + traditions. A lot of Fleetwood Mac and disco would be playing. I would want everyone to leave feeling like they just had the most fun vacation!

Heather Nykamp
About Me: I was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University. I have lived in LA and Chicago where I worked in marketing, branding, and PR. My event experience covers so many different industries - fashion brands, political campaigns, award ceremonies and red carpets, professional and action sports, brand launches, and more. During the pandemic, I moved back to Michigan and partnered with my best friend to launch this business. It has been one of the most rewarding and exciting experiences and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Favorite things: French cooking (and wine), thunderstorms, cuddles with my corgi, game night with the friends, sporting events, and true crime documentaries.
Fave wedding moment: I have two! One is when the couple exchanges letters before the ceremony. It is quite an intimate and special moment; I am moved every time I witness their reaction wile they read the letter. Second is towards the end of the night when the band or DJ drops a banger and the dance floor fills up. There is something about strangers coming together and dancing barefoot and singing along that brings me so much joy.
On the day of the event: Event day is THE BEST DAY! I love seeing every little piece of the planning puzzle come together to create a cohesive look and feel. I am all about the details, from floral placement and signage to lighting and aesthetics. Specifically for weddings, I will be running around with my emergency kit - steaming dresses, filling the bride’s mimosa, lint rolling the groom, etc. For me, its the little things that end up helping the couple relax so they can be fully present during their special day.
Dream Wedding: I feel like my dream wedding is always changing because I am constantly inspired while doing my research for each couple. I have 5 different Pinterest boards going! If I ever get married, it will be more about the entertainment and decor than the location itself. I want to honor tradition but also be outside the box, so maybe an all white ceremony and reception that transitions into a bright, colorful festival for the afterparty… I will for sure be having an afterparty.
